Permissions

Interested in reproducing work from Journal of Visual Culture? All permissions requests are handled by SAGE Publications. Please follow the protocols outlined here rather than contacting our staff.

SAGE publications permissions policies

On the SAGE homepage for Journal of Visual Culture, you may request permission through the Copyright Clearance Center’s RightsLink® service. For permission to reuse any SAGE Open Access content, please email permissions@sagepub.co.uk.

To request permission using RightsLink, just follow a few simple steps:

  1. Locate the journal article that contains the content for which you are seeking permission at SAGE Journals. First locate the journal, and then, using the table of contents, the “Abstract” or “PDF” link for the article you are interested in.
  2. Click the “Request Permissions” link to open RightsLink.
  3. Create a RightsLink account (a two-step process) if you don’t already have one.
  4. Select the description of how you will be using the content.
  5. Accept the terms and conditions of your permission grant (one click). You will receive an email providing you with an order confirmation and license details.

If you cannot find the article for which you are seeking permission on SAGE Journals:

  • Unless you are requesting classroom use (see below), please request permission by emailing the SAGE UK Permissions department at permissions@sagepub.co.uk.
